Masthead & Editor’s Note: Fall 2024
Editor’s Note
This season’s publication highlights a range of pressing global affairs challenges. From the ongoing conflicts in Palestine, South Sudan, and Ukraine to the imposition of martial law in countries like South Korea, the urgency to critically engage with international relations has never been greater.
This edition features thought-provoking pieces, rigorously selected through our author-blind review process. Our contributors explore diverse themes, such as the cultural beauty of Syria, the shifting global order, sovereign wealth funds, and the evolving role of international courts. These articles aim to spark meaningful dialogue and offer actionable insights for policymakers, practitioners, and scholars.
The YJIA editorial team has put forth unparalleled efforts to achieve our mission of publishing strong arguments furthering conversations in and around global affairs. This year, we have streamlined internal processes, amplified the journal’s reach at various libraries, recruited pieces from over 25 countries, and partnered with other graduate school journals. Our sincerest gratitude to the editorial team, who has put in countless hours to make this publication successful, and our wonderful authors, who have given us the privilege of publishing their thought pieces. The YJIA platform is only as great as its team, and we were lucky to have a great one.
We hope you critically engage with these pieces, reflect on your position on these topics, and further global affairs discourse in all the spaces you occupy.
Sincerely,
The YJIA Leadership Team
